Callington's Community Choir
The Callington Singers traditionally travel abroad to sing for 8 to 10 days at the end of May each year.
In June 2010 we sang in Austria, in May 2009 we travelled to Menorca and in 2008 we sang in Italy, Austria and Slovenia. In 2007 we went to Spain giving concerts in the Cathedrals in Barcelona and Toledo. In 2006 we visited France and Switzerland singing at the American Church and La Madeleine in Paris, at the Cathedral in Berne and at the Hofkirche in Luzern. In 2005 we performed at the Duomo in Florence, at the Cathedral in Empoli and at both St Peter's Basilica & San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. In 2004 a trip to France included performances in The Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and at Reims Cathedral.
In earlier years the choir has sung in Germany and Denmark. We are also "twinned" with choirs in France, Germany, Ireland and Italy arranging reciprocal visits and joint concerts. Some of the places where we have sung during the last decade are remembered below.
